RULES FOR ‘WHANGANUI RIVER HUNT’:
1. All whanau and other participants, enter hunt at own risk.
2. All game to be caught within the hunt dates and time specified.
3. All hunting to be conducted in accordance with these Terms and Conditions including “special conditions” for those concerned in the event.
4. All game must be wild, that is born wild, lived wild and caught wild (feral origin).
5. FAIR CHASE RULES APPLY.
6. Firearms License: Minimum of One Current Licensed firearm holder per group. Individuals are to be licensed if rifles are used, please fill in license number on the registration form. Please scan and send in Firearms Licence with your registration form.
7. All animals to be caught/shot by paid entrant. If you did not catch it “DON’T HANG IT”.
8. No team or individual to pass on game to make up another team or individual entry.
9. Each animal can only be entered into one category.
10. All game must be in edible condition; no frozen or decomposing game will be accepted.
Boars only, no sows or barrows (pigs under 30kg will not be accepted & or weighed-in).
Pigs will only be weighed with offal and nuts removed.
Pigs must be weighed in one piece with head intact.
If more than one hunter caught the boar, all names of those who were on the hunt can be included but there will be only one prize.
If two boars are the same weight, then the first one notified to the organisers will be deemed to be the winner.
Red and Fallow Deer will only be weighed with ears, legs and head attached (no offal or pissel).
Red and Fallow Deer heads to be measured must be attached to the body.Note: Entries along with cash or cheque entry fee must be in the hands of the hunt organiser by no later than 3pm Friday, 28 April 2017 please (late entries may be considered at the organiser’s discretion).
JUDGING
11. Hunters must notify weigh-in judges on arrival at competition grounds.
12. All pigs & deer must be in the hands of the scrutineers / judges for weigh-in at Hiruharama Marae no later than 2pm sharp on Sunday, 7 May 2017. No late arrivals accepted.
13. Judge(s) and Scrutineer(s) decision will be final.
14. In the case of a draw, the winner will be decided by the toss of a coin.
