Ngati Kurawhatia of Pipiriki hosted the 2018 Whanganui River Hunting & Wild Food Festival at Paraweka Marae (27-29 April, 2018). It was a beautiful weekend & the weather held steady despite forecasts of storms & torrential rain. Another successful event for both the hunting community & the wider area surrounding Pipiriki. People showed up to support the event from all over the country. Aotearoa Hunt Nation’s annual event is growing steadily in popularity by the year which has been great news for host marae & the ahikaa as well as all of the event participants and supporters. Next year the event will be hosted by Nga Paerangi at Kaiwhaiki marae, Whanganui River. More photos to come.
