Hiruharama Marae Whakatupato Firearms Licensing Programme – 6/7 May 2017
Stage 1 – Students to pay $126.50 at local NZ Post Shop for firearms licence application and send the receipt to Chris Kumeroa.
Stage 2 – Student gets an Arms Code either from local Police (or from Chris) to study.
Stage 3 – At the back of the Arms Code is a Firearms Licence Application Form – fill it in, and give it along with two passport photographs of yourself to Chris Kumeroa. If you have trouble finding an Arms Code or Application form contact Chris Kumeroa.
Stage 4 – If your application is received by 7 April and in time and your full vetting is approved, Police will complete interviews for you at the course 6th May. We will let you know if this will happen.
Stage 5 – Students and Police support will attend the Firearms Safety and Licencing course at Jerusalem on Saturday, 6 May 2017
Stage 6 – Students achievements are acknowledged at the prize giving with issuing of Certificates.
Stage 7 – The process for your firearms licence is well underway. You will be advised what is to happen next and what you must do to finish the licencing process.
Note: If you are concerned whether you would be eligible for a firearms licence, make contact with your local NZ Police Arms Officer and ask him to pre-vet you BEFORE you pay the $126.50 to NZ Police. It’s ok to have had a naughty past as long as you have shown recent good behavior.
